For Schools and Teachers for Grades K-8

Since launching in 2018, the Code Club experienced incredible success teaching students how to code.  We have worked with nearly 200 students at schools in two states, and and we are continuing to expand.  Our goal is to replicate the Code Club in other schools and cities so more students can gain this skill.

If your school is interested in this opportunity for the 2019/2020 school years, we would love to speak with you.  Below are some of the most common ways we have worked with schools.  We have options below that we can customize to meet your teaching and learning goals.  In addition, we can work with leaders to utilize title funds to support the curriculum and professional development costs.

OPTION 1.

Partner with MKE Code Club to run after-school or summer courses

The Code Club provides the curriculum, enrollment process, and payments.  Schools provide the technology, space, teacher, and partner with the Code Club to support outreach to parents/guardians.   Critical to the success of the launch  is an educator who works alongside the students as they learn and grow. This teacher does not need experience in coding;    rather, they need to have a desire to learn the skill and support student growth.  We will train teachers for free, provide a proven curriculum, and pay competitive rates.  Additionally, we are offering teachers a paid training opportunity during our July 2019/2020 Code Club courses in Milwaukee, WI.  During training, teachers learn how to deliver a quality coding course that guarantees every student will be able to write code at the end of an 8-hour course.

OPTION 2.

Purchase the MKE Code Club curriculum and Professional Development to implement at your school for coding and computer science classes and after-school programs

Some schools have all the infrastructure in place to enroll students, manage communications, collect payments, and teach an after-school program but they lack proven content to deliver a successful engaging coding course.  Developing coding course content is not easy, so we are here to help!

OPTION 3.

Contract the MKE Code Club for professional development on coding, computer science and technology in order to integrate coding and computer science into your school’s curriculum

We have experienced professionals on our team who work with school leadership teams and staff to integrate coding and computer science into the school's curriculum.  We start by listening to your objectives.  Then, we evaluate areas of opportunity for curriculum and professional development that meet your short-term and long-term goals while measuring milestones along the way.
